For investors

Indian D2C founders we've already reviewed, scored and pressure-tested.

Overview

Overview

We spend our weeks inside early-stage D2C businesses, scoring each company against our written rubric. Funds get two things out of that work. Introductions to founders who have already cleared our review, and a monthly read on Indian D2C written to your mandate.

Some months our note will say we screened four companies and none were right for you. We'd rather send that than a marginal deal.

Who it's for

Early-stage consumer investors who are actively deploying or building their next pipeline. New funds, funds near the end of a cycle, family offices, angels and high-net-worth investors.

Deal access

An introduction only after a company clears our capital threshold.

To reach you, a company has to clear our capital threshold first. When a company falls short, we tell you that too.

What every introduction carries

  • Whether the company paid us, stated in the first message, every time
  • The facts and materials the founder has agreed to share
  • Why we think the fit with your fund is real right now

What we never do

We don't send bulk email, and we never introduce a company we wouldn't back ourselves. If you pass, we take the pass and don't reroute the company to a colleague of yours.

Avan Venture Mail

A letter about your fund, written for one partner, once a month.

Avan Venture Mail is India's first personalised venture mail. One printed letter a month, signed by both our partners, posted to one named partner at each of twenty funds.

What's in it

  • What moved this month in the categories your fund backs
  • What it means for the companies already in your portfolio
  • What we think deserves your attention next, and why
  • The companies we'd introduce, or a plain line saying there are none
  • In months without a deal, our thinking on the industry and what it means for you

Each letter starts from your mandate and your portfolio, then sets out what we are seeing in Indian D2C that bears on both. When we have screened a company that fits, it is in the letter. When we have not, you get our read on the category instead, never filler.

No pitch. If something lands, the QR code inside reaches us directly. We read every reply.

Twenty funds, one partner each, because writing a letter properly for each fund takes that long. The best introductions come from people who already know how we think.
