Who we are
Avan Partners LLP ("we", "us") is based at 102, 1st Floor, Parinee Crescenzo, C-38/39, G Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra (East), Mumbai 400051, India. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act), we are the data fiduciary for the personal data described here.
What we collect
- What you send us through the contact form. Your name and email address. If you write as a founder, your company name, website and category, your monthly revenue now and six months ago, when you want capital, who has invested so far and who is on your cap table, your biggest problem, who else you are talking to, and whether you will share your numbers. If you write as an investor, your fund, stage and cheque size, the categories you are active in, and, if you choose to give one, a deal you passed on recently.
- What you send us by email or LinkedIn. Whatever you choose to include.
- Email sign-ups. If we offer an email list and you join it, your email address.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, their approximate location and device, and which buttons and forms are used. Google Analytics only sets cookies if you click Accept on the cookie bar. If you decline, Google receives only basic, cookie-free signals. Google does not give us your IP address. You can change your choice by clearing this site's data in your browser.
IP address and browser. When you send a form, we receive your IP address and browser type with your message, to protect against spam and abuse. Our host, Hostinger, also keeps standard server logs of visits, which include IP addresses.
The site also stores your cookie choice and one small, non-identifying flag in your browser's storage, so the opening animation on the home page is not replayed on every visit. It is deleted when you close the tab.
Why we use it
We use your data only to read and reply to your enquiry, to decide whether we can help, and, if you ask us to, to keep in touch about relevant work or new publications. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by sending the form or writing to us. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with investors, founders or anyone else without your written agreement.
Who processes it for us
Our website is hosted by Hostinger, and Google provides our analytics. Form submissions are sent by email from our host straight to our inbox, and recorded in a private Google Sheet that only we can open. They are not stored on the website. Hostinger and Google may process data outside India. We use them only to run the website, deliver your messages to us and keep a record of them.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and to keep a record of our conversation, unless we start working together, in which case the terms of that engagement apply.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, to correct or complete it, to erase it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. You can also nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these rights, or to raise a grievance, contact us at ask@avanpartners.com. We will respond within the time the law requires. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This website is meant for founders and investors. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page, with a new date at the top.
