For investors
India's first personalised venture mail
Avan Venture Mail is India's first personalised venture mail. One printed letter a month from Avan Partners, signed by Ananya Iyer and Vannan Mehta, posted to one named partner at each of twenty venture funds.
A letter about your fund
Each letter starts from your mandate and your portfolio, then sets out what we are seeing in Indian D2C that bears on both. When we have screened a company that fits, it is in the letter. When we have not, you get our read on the category instead, never filler.
What's inside
- What moved this month in the categories your fund backs
- What it means for the companies already in your portfolio
- What we think deserves your attention next, and why
- The companies we'd introduce, or a plain line saying there are none
- In months without a deal, our thinking on the industry and what it means for you
Who receives it
One named partner at each fund, one person per firm, twenty funds in total. Writing a letter properly for each fund takes that long.
Why it arrives by post
A printed, signed letter cannot be sent at scale, so it cannot be mistaken for a newsletter. It is how we build a relationship with a fund before we bring them a single deal. The best introductions come from people who already know how we think.
Questions
Questions
What is Avan Venture Mail?
India's first personalised venture mail, a monthly printed letter from Avan Partners written for one partner at a venture fund, around that fund's mandate and portfolio.
How is it different from a VC newsletter?
A newsletter sends the same text to every reader. Each Avan Venture Mail letter is written for one fund and one partner, and arrives on paper.
Is it a pitch?
No. There is nothing to buy. If something in a letter is useful, the QR code inside reaches us directly, and we read every reply.
How do I request it?
Tell us your fund and your mandate. We add a fund when a place opens, up to twenty.
